Research Assistant: Bird Friendly UW Project (2022-2023)
● Worked with University of Washington’s Office of Sustainability to identify strategies for inclusive engagement to make environmental research opportunities more accessible to BIPOC students
● Created an outreach strategy that recruited 20 student volunteers to monitor bird collisions on University of
Washington’s campus
● Created educational University of Washington campus walking tour explaining architectural designs that increase the likelihood of bird collisions as well as prevention strategies that can be implemented in the future

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant: Natural History of the Puget Sound (Spring 2023)
Led several in session plant identification sessions, supported with planning and executing field trips to Mt. rainier and Whidbey Island, and supported with weekly grading. An awesome experience!

Undergraduate Representative: College of the Environment Curriculum Committee (2021-2023)
● Provided an undergraduate student perspective on proposed curriculum changes within the College of the
Environment
● Consistently advocated for the integration of environmental justice education across all schools and departments
● Gained an understanding of the process and challenges of developing new or changing existing courses

Co-Manager: ASUW Student Food Co-Operative (2021-2022)
● Facilitated 25+ weekly meeting for co-operative members to set goals, plan events, and reflect on past projects
● In charge of planning, coordinating, and volunteer management for Humble Feast, a biannual 200 person event
with food prepared by co-operative members
● Communicated with on and off campus groups to organize speakers for events and foster partnerships. 7 new
partnerships formed this year.

Member: CEP Community Equity Committee (2021-2023)
Actively participated in understanding how to make CEP more equitable, diverse, and inclusive. Supported int he implementation of a quarterly Curriculum Review, which provided students with the opportunity to reflect on their experiences in CEP classes. Also helped coordinate a Non-Violent Communication and Conflict Resolution Training with the Center for Restorative Solutions.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant: Introduction to Environmental Studies (Spring 2020)
● Taught a virtual weekly quiz section of 24 students for an introductory Environmental Studies course
● Exercised organizational and time management skills by grading assignments and exams, creating review materials, and providing reliable support and thoughtful feedback for students
● Direct quote from Instructor Evaluation: “Anya's enthusiasm and kindness were contagious, and I always looked forward to the Zooms. Also, Anya's responsiveness was amazing and contacting her was very easy and helpful.”

Co-Director: Sustainability Curriculum Coalition (2019-2020)

Participated in student efforts to increase more sustainability education across all UW curriculum.

Planned a Student Sustainability Forum, with about 150 students in attendance, which was an opportunity for students to share what kind of sustainability measures they would like to see in the UW Sustainability Action Plan.

Dancer: INFLUX Student Dance Production (Autumn 2022)
Participated in a 5 person contemporary dance piece. A lovely opportunity to reconnect with my love of dancing in college!
