ANYA GAVRYLKO
Senior Capstone Projects
As a double major in Environmental Studies and Community, Environment and Planning, I had to complete two year long self guided research projects. I was able to plan my course load in a way that I completed my Environmental Studies capstone my junior year, and I completed my CEP senior project my senior year. It's ironic, because my Environmental Studies project is more focused on my interests within urban planning -- environmental justice in the built environments, and community empowerment. My CEP senior project ended up being more related to my curiosities within the environmental field -- transformative environmental education, and Indigenous ecological knowledge. I was lucky to have two opportunities to explore my niche interests, and have learned so much from both experiences. It has been hard work doing TWO year long self driven projects ack to back, and I am very proud of what I have accomplished. :*)
